Micro-Lab Electronics Learning System
Fully Self-contained Electronics Laboratory
ingenious system is a complete learning module for the absolute beginner in electronics,
whether it be student or teacher.
The course is activity based, and centred about the learner. Circuits are assembled
on the built-in "breadboard" from components also stored inside the unit, and returned after completion ready for re-use. All components
can be replaced should they ever wear out or become lost.
Wire cutters and strippers are supplied with each Micro-Lab. This is just one of
many improvements on the original version of the Micro-Lab,
which was discontinued in December 2003. Including wire cutters and strippers means
that there is now more "hands-on" for students, and they can quickly make
additional breadboard wires to suit the circuit. Other improvements are the all-new
plastic box with convenient compartments for component storage. In addition, the
inclusion of a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) tidies-up the way that connections are
made from the breadboard to the battery, switch, potentiometer and speaker. The
PCB also includes a power-on LED indicator.
The comprehensive Handbook is presented as a sequence of integrated theory and practical
activities. Activities are fully illustrated, with both layout and circuit diagrams.
Questions, with answers at rear appear with each section. Optional theory and practical
activities are also included for advanced learners.
Note that apart from an update of Layout Diagrams, the Handbook has not changed
from the proven and highly regarded original version
of the Micro-Lab. This means that both Micro-Lab versions may be used interchangeably.

Sample Diagrams from the Handbook
All circuits have a Circuit Diagram and a Layout Diagram. This makes
it very easy for the circuit to be correctly assembled.
A set of additional units using the Micro-Lab (or equivalent) to cover more in-depth
topics required of the various Australian Senior Physics syllabuses.
